Doug Beamish is a partner of the firm and an experienced family law and estate litigation counsel. He has over 35 years of experience and expertise in advising clients in all aspects of family law, including property division, custody, access and parenting issues with respect to their children, child and spousal support, domestic contracts such as marriage contracts, cohabitation agreements and separation agreements and issues with respect to their corporate , partnership and trust interests. His estate litigation expertise includes issues concerning the validity of wills and trusts, variation proceedings and support claims of dependents. He prides himself in providing the highest level of client service and excellence and is highly regarded by his colleagues and the judiciary.

Doug makes every effort to resolve disputes by negotiation but, if that isn’t possible, has extensive experience and is a highly skilled advocate at all levels of the courts in Ontario and on mediations and arbitrations.

Doug obtained his LLB from the University of Ottawa and before that obtained a BA in economics from Western University. He practiced family law and estate litigation with a national firm from his call to the Ontario Bar until he joined our firm as partner in 2008.

He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association.
